Who we’re looking for.

At Mahi Rākau we are looking for motivated, fit and energetic people who are looking to work full-time, 5-days a week. We work on all terrains and in all weather conditions. Our starting rates are higher than the government minimum wage and you'll be paid on a piece-rate, which means there is plenty of opportunity to earn well-above minimum wage.

Our in-house trainer and assessor will work with you to develop an individual training plan specific to your needs.

We also work closely with Te Wānanga O Aotearoa and MSD and have our own in-house training crew which means you can get NZQA-based training while being paid at the same time. As you progress we offer and promote career pathways for silvicultural workers who wish to advance as crew managers or supervisors.

We have a strict Drug-Free Policy

Before you work with Mahi Rākau, you must first pass a drug-free test. We also regularly perform random drug testing of all our crew-members to ensure your work environment is a safe one. All our drug-testing is done in-house plus we also do ESR Testing for all crew-members involved in high-risk operations.
